WAHOOOOOO!  THAT IS AWESOME!!!!!!!!!

Okay, I'll settle down, now.

I'm so excited for you, girl!  You are so gonna rock this!  Don't worry, I had a bit of a time telling my immediate family, too.  My mom was the hardest, but as she realized how much I had researched, and that I really was on top of it and aware of what I was getting used to, she came around.  I'll send you my cell # on FB- call me if you need to vent or anything, any reason at all!  Let Kelly and I know when your date is once you get it!

Congrats on getting approval and getting a date! You have all the normal fears and nervousness before this surgery. I work at Abbott, and I would love to stop by say hello when the big day comes!

YAY! Visitors! I'm sure I'll be a mess on the day of surgery, but you should stop by the next! What types of patients do you work with?

Congratulations!

I am a bit over two years out from surgery and I think it has been the best thing I have ever done for myself.  While it is very helpful to have the support of friends and family, the only person who needs to approve your decision is you.  The best response to the naysayers, especially any of those to whom you are related,  is to take care of yourself and make the most of this opportunity to improve your health.  Yes, major surgery is a scary prospect  and feeling afraid is only human.  You have to make your own decision about whether or not to have surgery, but If you do decide to go ahead with it, the anxiety and fear you are experiencing now will give way to determination and courage.    Those traits will serve you well as you begin the post-surgery part of your journey, your self-confidence growing day by day as the pounds melt away.  My life as a thinner person is much better than it was before and I bet yours will be too.

Thanks, Mr. Rick!

I feel a lot better now that I talked to my therapist on Friday. I told 2 more friends that I am having it, as well as my co workers, and it seems less scary now that I have more people supporting me.

I think I am going to tell my dad and stepmom on Tuesday morning. I know they'll have a lot of questions, but they will still love me no matter what I decide to do.
