Survived the Fair!
I went to the Fair today with my son, and I think I did okay. I have always been a Fair Food Fanatic--anything on a stick was fine with me. I'd start at the gate and eat my way through the grounds.
This time I did better. I had not eaten breakfast before going, but we didn't get there until mid-morning and didn't eat right away. I wanted protein in my pouch, so I got some grilled shrimp on a stick. :-) Then we walked and walked and walked, and later got a slice of pizza and a bottle of water. I ate about half the slice of pizza. Then we walked some more and went home.
Pretty good, huh? I was very proud of myself. We even walked through the food building--somehow it's not the Fair to me without doing that, but there was nothing in there I wanted.

I know. My fair experience was really different this year, too. We started with sharing a pork chop on a stick, and there wasn't room for much else. MUCH later in the day we split a corn dog and couldn't eat even half of it! Not much appealed me, either. Nice.
It is just amazing how the food fanatic mentality improves - I'm not nearly as wild over food as I was. Don't get me wrong - I like it a lot, sometimes even wish I could eat more at the time, but I'm so grateful my pouch keeps me in line at times.
Now... I just gotta work on snacking and exercise!
