WLS and the State Fair!
The store I work for has a booth at the fair. I work two days this year and bring my own food. It is easier. They sell fresh fruit at the Fried Fruit stand by the Grand Stand. That is what I got. I wish the vendors sold sample size servings because I am by myself and will not buy a full serving and throw most of it away.
I agree with everyone. I could not have handled the heat, walking and standing at 300+. WLS has given me freedom.

Went the first day & ate, of course. For me, I love the Fair. I love it even more now that I'm not SMO to be honest. Easier to walk around, I have energy all day, I can eat one bite and be happy with it, etc. I'm also not embarrassed to walk around a big blob and dread going because it's hot out and I had to once again wiggle my way into my jeans. I would never wear shorts when I was SMO because I was so embarrassed at the size of my legs.
Here's my list:
*Turkey leg
*Cheese on a stick
*Mac & cheese on a stick (love this better than cheese curds - not as salty)
*A bite of my son's cotton candy
*Roasted corn
*1/2 a beer
*Glass of milk
*1/4 strawberry malt
*Pastrami/Pickle/Cream cheese roll-up
*French fries
*Big Fat Bacon (this, OMG, this was a DS'ers delight, let me tell you!!! YUM!)
*Elephant Ear or fried bread as I would call it
Like you, all of this was shared between me, DH, and two sons - except for the corn, that one I could handle on my own.
And what I love best is that I could go to bed that night knowing my surgery was still working for me and the guilt was not there, like it would have been in the past. And the next morning I woke up & weighed in and didn't gain an ounce. Love that, it never gets old!!!

My husband and I are going tomorrow and I can't wait. I love the State Fair and am anxious to go this year because all the walking will be so much easier. I'm planning on eating:
Grilled pork chop
A few french fries
Walley cakes
a corn dog
milk
a couple of chocolate chip cookies
Kettle corn
I'm going to try to drink lots of water, have a few bites of what my husband is eating (if I really like it)and pace myself. Maybe I can buy something to wear (in a smaller size than I wore last year!) with all the money I save eating less!

I've been to the fair twice already this year and will be going back again on Saturday for my wedding anniversary.
The first day I had:
a couple of the french fries from the FF booth across from the Mighty Midway
some bull bites from Axels (grilled steak with cajun seasoning...yummo!!)
a small Diet Coke.
The second time (there from 8:30a-9:00p but working at the ticket booth in the Midway from 9-5)
I had a pulled pork sandwich (minus the bun...i don't do so well with bread-see below)
a small Diet Coke
a bite of a big 'ol pickle
4 cheese curds
1 frozen banana dipped in chocolate
1 bite of a soft pretzel (this did it in for me because for some reason bread sits like a lead balloon but I thought I would try a bite..yeah, not so much)
I also had plenty of water both days.
