2 hours later and I am.......
APPROVED!!!!! My doctors office submitted at 1pm today and I called to make sure they got it around 3pm and they told me "Yes we did get it and in fact you have already been approved". Wow, this is getting so real to me. I am super excited and scared at the same time. I have 2 small kids at home I am more worried about. While I want to better my life I am scared of the side effects of this. In some ways I feel selfish for wanting this. What's next? Do I call the office to let them know or should I want until the scheduler calls me? I know I haven't posted much before but believe me, I read all the post in here as well as the main board. I hope to become closer to all of you and I start this new experience.
CONGRATULATIONS! It's normal to be scared, if you weren't there would be something wrong.
I did my surgery 8 months ago and my kids were 2 and 6 at the time. It took planning on my part, patience on my family's part and help from lots of friends and family. But it all worked out and I wouldn't change this for anything. I had some problems at first but you find how to work through them. Ask questions here and remember knowledge is power! You aren't selfish, we as Mom's always put our needs last, it's what we do. Doing this for you is also a gift to your family, even if they don't see it at first. You will be healthier and live longer. it's a gift to everyone!
Get on the phone and call the Dr's office, be proactive! Again congratulations, you are the edge of something great!

Congratulations!
I would definitely be proactive and let them know what you were told and ask them if they have heard anything yet from the insurance company. Be a pain in the you know what if you have to.
I too am a mommy (that's my daugther with me in my profile picture) and when I had my surgery my daugther was 3 (she's 4 now) so pretty young. I'm in St. Paul as well so if you want to get together for coffee or anything, please feel free to let me know and we can meet up and hopefully answer any questions that you may have.

Congratulations on getting a date. Like everyone has said, it is normal to be worried/scared/apprehensive but it is so worth it. I had my surgery 8 months ago and am so close to my goal. You will be there before you know it. Good luck and be blessed. Take good care of yourself and you will be a better mother.
Congratulations,
I'm sure it seems even more real now that you have a date and time.
I wish you the best and please keep all of us informed on how you are doing. I can't wait for my insurance to let me know when it is go time. You must be so exited. Even us Dad's think about our children so it is all natural I'm sure.
