Stumped with lack of weight loss
Although I'm down over 100 pounds since October of 2009, the weight loss has been very slow for me since about 2 months post-surgery. Lately I'm lucky if I can lose 1 pound a week. I've tried cutting my calories down to 1000 - lose a couple of pounds then plateaued. I've tried adding in extra calories - closer to 1500 - lost a couple of pounds then plateaued.
I exercise 3 times/week for 1-1.5 hours at a time. I do the CT5K, then about 40 minutes of weights. I also do 75 sit-ups on a ball every time I exercise. I can't get in more exercise (time is a major factor with 2 kids, 3 sporting activities, and OT for my son with Aspbergers, working full-time and trying to have some sort of relationship with my hubby!).
Does anyone have suggestions on what I can do to break out of this? I'm done three pounds in the last 5 weeks, and I only lost 4 pounds the previous month. I'm only 5.5 months out, so I had hopes to lose weight more quickly while still on the "honeymoon".
I get in around 90-120 ounces of fluid daily, and around 70+ grams of protein daily.
Any suggestions would be greatly welcomed. I'm just not sure where or how to change things up.

Come on Nicole, look at your ticker....102.8 pounds lost and you are concerned about this week? Well me too, I have been on some sort of plateau for about three weeks, so our experiences are similar.
I was glad I got to chat with my nurse during my 6 month check. I thought my life (well at least my weight loss life) was OVER. What had I done to stop it in it's tracks. During these situations, I check back a month or two to see the overall progress and I have been rewarded.
The nurses' perspective was that I had lost in 6 months what many lose over a years time., so I shouldn't be concerned "short term." You have done well also. Keep up the good habits and your body will follow. Remember your body is doing a lot of adjusting (and maybe even resisting.)

I know this might be hard to do since you seem to watch all the numbers, but step away from it all. Just eat what you are supposed to, drink your liquids, exercise, and RELAX!
Your body is going through major adjustments here and you need to let it sort this all out.
5 or 6 months from now, you will look back and you will see that you lost a ton more weight and this was just a minor adjustment along the way.

You are doing great. There are not two people that loose weight at the same rate or have the same experience. It truly is different from person to person. I have stayed at 180 pounds for a year and have been very happy with that weight. This summer for no reason I lost another 10 pounds. Don't know how or why and don't care either. I don't pretend to understand how weight loss work, every time I think I have it all figured out, I get surprised. We did not get overweight over night and we will not get skinny that way either
