Who did your DS surgery? That's who I would call......

Well I'm CERTAINLY not bragging here, but I've had a PLETHORA of hernia surgeries in my life. Apparently, I'm prone - they're no big deal. (I have to admit, however, that I rather enjoy narcotics prescribed for pain management, so in THAT way, I'm different than you...) I would highly recommend at least talking with your WLS surgeon if you need you proceed with hernia repair surgery, he may have suggestions or recommendations for you. May even do it himself.
Not saying this will happen in your case, BUT - last summer I ended up undergoing another surgery. I had some significant, painful tumors in and around my ovaries, so they had to come out. Being too familiar with hernias, I KNEW I had one higher up in my abdomen, so I inquired as to whether or not that MIGHT be fixable at the same time? It was.
The silver lining? My excess belly skin went bye-bye, too! My surgeon said he needed to remove it so that the incision could heal properly, without being buried beneath the fold. Who am I to argue that logic?
Don't be afraid. Hernia repairs are fairly minor. If you DO have one, and they CAN do a little bit of a nip & tuck for ya, THAT will be a little more challenging to heal from. BUT WORTH IT!!!
