With an open DS, Dr. Buchwald offered to do that at no charge. I did not have it done, but I know it is an option. You would be best off to call Dr. I's office and ask specifically if he performs it or not. If your OB/GYN would need to be there, he or she may need surgical privileges at the hospital, and you would want to know that ahead of time.
Darla,
I don't mean to offend you or any mother out there, but I despise children. The thought of having something squirming around inside of me makes me want to puke and I get the picture of that scene in Alien of that thing bursting out of that guy's stomach......*gags*.
I will be perfectly happy being an aunt. I don't have time, money, or patience for my own children, and frankly, I am too selfish to even consider having them. I have too many things I want to do with my life that children would ruin.
That's my stance. :) Please don't hate me :)

Oh hon, I do NOT hate you!! In fact, I totally respect you for knowing yourself that well. Too many people who SHOULDN'T have children keep pooping them out - I have a neice (by marriage, not blood) who had SIX by the time she was 24!!! That's just wrong.
But I've also known a few young women in my life who thought they'd never want to have children, only to realize later on that they really DID.
So, I sincerely do respect people who make a conscious decision to NOT have children, because the whole motherhood gig isn't for everyone. You can't make that kind of a lifelong commitment just because of some societal expectation.
YOU GO, GIRL!
