Have any of you been diagnosed with endometriosis and had the laparoscopy to diagnose this? My dr thinks I have it and I will be having the surgery on 8/23. Has this been a help for anyone?

I had the surgery about 12 years ago.  I has been worlds better since the surgery!  It's not a bad surgery at all.

Farrah....yes, I had endometriosis when I was 28 years old. I had to have a hysterectomy but no laparoscopy available at that time. I have a friend that just had laparoscopy and it was an easy sursery procedure for her.

Prayers coming your way.

Hugs....connie d

Thanks, Guys. I'm just worried I'm going to go through this surgery and they're not going to find anything. I will be highly dissapointed if that happens.

Hey Farrah, sorry to hear about it!  I had Endo removed Sept 08 then had full hysterectomy 6 wks later.  Then about 6 wks ago I had my gall bladder removed at the same time I had an Endo surgery scheduled.  It was VERY helpful (I didn't think I could have it after a full hysterectomy, but I was mistaken)

Do you still have all of your "girl bits" uterus, ovaries etc?  The Endo sticks to stuff and pulls etc and I was very uncomfortable.  I have been glad both times I did it.

One word of advice, they cleared me for 3 days of Ibuprophen after surgery and it made a huge difference, so if they tell you to take it and your Dr oks it, do it!  It helped more than the pain meds even.

The very best of luck, please let me know if you have any other questions ok?

Thank you Tess!

Yep, I still have all of my girl parts. I told the Dr that I don't need 'em and to take as many as she needs.

My worry is that she won't find anything and that I'll still have pain. Thanks for all your advice!!

It will take a good week for you to feel better from surgery, pain wise, but I would think you should improve.  Ask them to look for any adhessions.  I asked them to look at my left colon area, which was really hurting and I didn't have any Endo there but had some adhessions that they released and I have a lot of relief from it.

Let me know how it goes ok?  Good luck!
