Anyone had surgery with Dr. Henry Buchwald?

I am looking to have a Revision from RNY to DS and see that he has a lot of feedback as a surgeon and has a good demeanor. I have an appointment with him next month and am wondering if anyone has had surgery DS with him. I know he only does it open and that worries me as my previous RNY was lap.

Any help would be great!

You are in excellent hands my dear! Dr. B. is incredible - bed side manners, surgical skills, everything. I was more worried about him retiring and me not getting to see his smiling face at the clinic to be honest, than being cut open. He can see everything better doing an open procedure and in your case, as a revision, personally, that's the only way I would want it.

I had an open DS w/Dr. B. He is awsome! Like Diamond, I was afraid by the time I got approved & all, he was going to be retired, but he's still working away! You are in good hands with him & I know you'll like him.

I had an open RNY with Dr. Buchwald back in 2006.  Not only because that's all he does but because of my size.  My surgery day weight was 393.  I did have some pain but not as bad as some others told me it would be.  I was back to pretty much my normal activities in 5 weeks.  I could've  milked it for six weeks but I got tired of sitting around. 

 Loved Dr Buchwald :)  I got through everything just fine and haven't had a single complication .... he also managed to do all the hard work with winning my family over .. [I had just turned 20 when we first went to see him .. so my dad was my ride up and their insurance companies were paying so major plus].  Lol .... both of us came out feeling very comfortable with my choice and .. save for the fact that I don't respond to pain meds .... I wouldn't change a thing!

You're in great hands if you go with him.  Enjoy your revision and best of luck!
