Optimal Vitamin D levels

I went to the Dr last week complaining of being tired all the time. She took blood and checked for ferritin, CBC, iron and Vitamin D. She said my B12 was perfect last time. When they called me today they said everything was "normal". I asked what my Vitamin D level was and it's 35. From what I'm reading, 35 is WLS "normal". Does anyone have any ideas what our levels should be?

On my lab results sheet, the normal Vit D Total level for anyone is 30-75.  It states:  season, race, dietary intake, and treatment affect the concentration of 25-hydroxy-Vitamin D.  Values may decrease during winter months and increase during summer months.  Values less than 30 ug/L may indicate Vit D deficiency.  According to a Dr. I talked to recently, most people who live in Mn. are Vit D deficient.  Mine has been less than 10-15 when checked twice and I'm on 8 wks of 50,000 units 3 times a week. for the second time.  Hope that helps answer your question.

Farrah,

My Dr. states 30-80 is normal......Mine was 48.9 with taking 1,000 a day.....

I guess it wouldn't hurt you to take Vitamin D.....Since your close to the lower end, I would.....
