MONO - WTH??

So - I have 2 of my 3 girls home with Mono of all things.  They are 17 and 18.  The 18 year old has a swollen spleen - more so than the 17 yr old.  UGH!  They are on strict bedrest, NO WORK, plenty of fluids. 

Please send good thoughts our way, my guy CANNOT get this, he had a kidney transplant 17 years ago and this would kick his arse.  I also don't want me or the 15 yr old to get it either, but especially Dave not to.

Yikes!  take it easy and I hope they get well soon.  Hard to believe that this illness is still kickin' butt - I had it in 1969 as a high school senior! 

Poor things!  I hope they get well soon.  Mono is not a fun thing to deal with, my 14 year old had it in January.  I felt so sorry for her.

I hate to ask but what are/were the symptoms for them?  Thanks!

Started out they were just tired, but being teens and working and running, we thought nothing of it.  Then came the HUGE swollen glands - I thought they had Strep - but turns out it was Mono.  The older one also had a hugely swollen spleen -

Both are better today - they were put on huge dose of Prednisone for the inflamation.
