Feet getting a bit cold...
I'm not changing my mind about the surgery, but the worries are coming to the top--will I have complications? Will I have trouble with foods or nutrition? Will my hair fall out? Will I be able to stay on plan? I'm sure you know them all.
How did you deal with the cold feet? Or didn't you have them?
I needed it. I was miserable waiting for it but scared to have it done. Would I "really" still be a woman? would I die and leave my kids with no mom? Would I have Osteoporosis and hot flashes and be a cranky, batty old ***** forever? Maybe. But if I didnt do it, I was going to stay in the same unhealthy state I was in so I had to go get it done.
I did not die. I had hot flashes for awhile, not forever. I dont have Osteoporosis, Im still a REAL Woman!. Im not ALWAYS cranky. And best of all, Im healthier than I was before.
Having cold feet before any major change or decision in life is normal. It shows you have thought it through thoroughly and you know the possibilities both good and not so good.
Breathe deep, drink the liquid diet, tell your family you love them, and we will see you on the losers bench before you know it!
I had second thoughts too, especially when I started my 2 week "liquid - pureed" diet. I think it is very normal, but dang it is frustrating. We know we need it, to help save our life, but we worry so much about leaving things un-finished.
I have 3 daughters, who depend on me 100%, their father is a dead-beat dad. I went so far as to write a Will, set up a trust for the insurance money - if I were to die, and had my living will designations done as well. I was scared to death.....
BUT, my surgeon put me out, before we even wheeled to the OR. He told me - AFTER - that he prefers it that way, so I did not have time to get myself worked up and cry and all that stuff. I so appreciated that from him.
I turned out fine also, no complications, other than I had a rash from the binder they had around my tummy. But that went away. Keep on going, it is so worth it. You have so much support here, these folks are AMAZING on this site!
Let me know if you ever need to talk!! I have great ears!

I was a little nervous but I wanted this surgery bad and I left it up to the doctor and God. I have no regrets....other then I wish I would have done it sooner.
Make a list of goals you want to achieve after surgery. I had hundreds....I have reached almost every one of them!!
There is so much more positive about having this surgery...just focus on those.
Good luck ....the liquid diet was a breeze!!

I was supposed to lose 10 lbs by the time of that class, and I haven't, so I'm nervous about that, too. I have lost about 8 lbs, tho, mostly with exercise, and I can feel myself getting stronger. Maybe I'm building muscle. :-)
It looks like you are doing really well, congratulations! Did you have any issues after?
It was all easier than I imagined. Yes my hair thinned otu but thats normal.. you just don't get enough protein in for the first 12 weeks while you heal your pouch and you learn how to eat over again. Almost everyone goes through that.. If you have a good bariatric program they will help keep you on your plan. Believe me, post op you'll be surprised how little you can eat.. 2 oz of itty bitty teeny tiny bites of yogurt.. and you're stuffed full.. It's crazy!
I'd do it over again in a heart beat. I am 1 year out last week, I've lost 80 lbs and I have 20 to lose to goal. I am insanely happy with my decision!
Good luck to you!
