Two Week Liquid diet
So did any of you need to do a two week liquid diet before surgery? What did you use? Did you purchase the pre-made liquid diet that some websites offer, or did you put it together yourself?
I'm debating purchasing a pre-made liquid diet for the two weeks, but what if I don't like the stuff? That would really be two unpleasant weeks.

Honestly, I did not have to do a LD, but I would not purchase a pre-made LD because you are exactly right...what if you didn't like the stuff, what a waste of money & liquid! Take a few minutes to compile a good grocery list and head out shopping instead. If you want to add a challenge, find coupons for some or most of the items you'll be buying.
You have so many options for liquids, don't fret! My personal favorite is Better than Bouillon. It is broth based and has terrific flavor. Also, SF popsicles for an icy cold treat. mmmmm

PNC has their patients do a 10-day. I focused on a variety of SF Carnation Instant Breakfast (added powdered milk ups the protein content), Slim Fast, Boost, and a few powdered mixes -
what SAVED ME was the chicken broth protein powder from Unjury! All the sweet flavors of protein drinks out there got old FAST! I have a hard time with most of them even today, which is fine because I rarely feel the need to go that route. I really appreciated being able to add a savory flavor that was full of protein, to break up the sweet.

Imperfect does not = unsuccessful
I did a two week liquid diet, too. I used a combination of a flavored protein drink I mixed with ice and milk, carnation instant breakfast sugar free, and boost (when I needed pre-made liquids). I used body fortress (widely available - like at target/walmart) in a big plastic canaster. Since then, i discovered Chike and I use that mixed with milk and ice and often benefiber - and I drink those a few times a week to beef up my protein even now.
I found the soups and boullion too salty, though I never tried the one Darla mentioned. We were told to keep it at around 900-1000 calories and 80-90 proteins and I usually stayed in about that range. I lost 16 pounds in those two weeks!
Good luck.

I'm down 120 pounds - thanks to RNY! Working on the next 25. Then I'll tackle more...
