Nerves are starting to kick in.  Surgery is set for the 29th of June.  I'm on a 1,000 cal/day diet to loose the last 5 lbs.  Stress is high and I'm normally a stress eater.

Not only is there the stress of surgery, but, I have to put my cat down on Wednesday.  He's had cancer for the past 2 years and now is painful and not eating.

Just had to vent for a minute.
Thanks for listening.

You are in the home stretch.  I am so sorry about your cat.  That is a hard thing to do.  But we do it because we love them, even though it's tough.

You'll be so happy you did this months from now.  Just remember, you won't really remember much about these last 2 wks later on.  Not to minimize it now, but it is true, it just won't seem as bad.

Just keep your eye on the prize and keep telling yourself all of the reasons you made this choice.  The best of luck to you!

So sorry to hear of the loss of your cat....so sad.

Just hang in there....your surgery is right around the corner. You can do it. Keep following your surgeon's advice. Keep busy ...do what ever it takes. You won't be sorry you did!!

Vent any time that is why we are all here.....to help each other through the tough times.

Hugs....connie d

I'm really sorry to hear about your cat - that's a rough one, but it is hard to watch them suffer, too.  I had to put our dog down 5 years ago, and the emotions come right to the surface whenever I let myself think about it too much.  Just remind yourself, it's the right thing to do.

So is this surgery - the right thing to do for YOU!  Try to turn your stress into EXCITEMENT!!  There is a light at the end of the tunnel of obesity in your life, and you will soon be having WOW moments that you never even anticipated!  It really is a gift, so look forward to it!

As for those last 5 pounds?  Lots of us had to do a liquid diet pre-op.  Even if that's not a requirement for you, it'd be a slam-dunk.  I lost 14 pounds in 10 days doing nothing but protein shakes, popsicles, broth and such.  If you can drink it, it's good!  (except, of course, shakes and brownie batter.  Gotta be smart about it!)

GOOD LUCK to you!!!

I'm so sorry to hear about your cat-we just put our boxer down on March 29th because of cancer.  It was very hard, but I know in my heart that it was the right thing to do.  Best of luck to you on Wednesday, I'll be thinking about you.

Also, the last couple of weeks are stressful, but you will be fine and you will lose those last 5lbs!
