I need help please....
I haven't been on the board in a LONG time. I don't know if anyone will remember me. I had my RNY 11/07 and lost 135lbs, getting below my goal weight the dr and I set for me. I'd maintained the loss up until recently. Back in Feb I had a complete hysterectomy and have had to go on hormone replacement therapy because of the complications I was having without them. Well, since going on them I've GAINED 15lbs. I feel out of control with my eating and am scared every time I go near the scale. My clothes are tight and I'm uncomfortable. I need help getting back on track. Please help...
Thank you!
Debi
Thank you!

Hi Debi...yes I remember you!!
It is hard to get back on track. I know as I have put on 20 pounds and not happy with myself at all. I keep trying but it sure doesn't go like it used to.
I had hip surgery a year ago and have had pain ever since. I haven't been able to exercise like I want. I was walking three miles a day. I had surgery again on May 24th to have the rod/pin removed from my hip/leg. Hopefully after this heals I can get back to walking and exercising again.
I also plan on attending support groups again and seeing my nutritionist if that is what it takes!! I have posted before and after pics all over my kitchen too!!
My clothes are tight too...can't fit in my size 0 and my 3's are tight...a lot of summer clothes I can't even wear this year. I am not happy.
Good Luck...hope someone has the answer you need. You have been missed!!!
Hugs....connie d

Thanks Connie. I remember you too! I hope you can get back down too. My excuses are it's been so hard since I've been working 2 jobs, the last surgery and all the hormone issues I've had since I had that stupid surgery, depression, things at my FT job aren't going well, hours have been cut, loads of stress, etc...Plus I just feel hungry all the time. I've been eating wayyyyy too many carbs!
Well today is day 1 of eating back on track again.

Im not sure how much help this will be coming from someone who hasnt yet had her surgery. I have been all over these boards for quite awhile now though and I see a LOT of people say that when you get to a point like this...go back to the very first basics. Start back on a liquid diet to kick-start the losing and shrink your pouch again. I hope this can help you! Good Luck!
Thank you. I do need to get back to step one and start over. I've been trying to find my paperwork from the surgery so I can do that. Funny how at first you think you'll never forget because you feel like this is how you'll eat forever, but then a few years later you can barely remember how it all was...
Ladies... Thank you for posting your struggles.
First, let's remember that carbs carbs carbs taste good good good, but it is one of the culprits that got us to surgery. Modify!
Second, HUGS. You're gonna make it! You have the TOOL. It still works. You can do this.
OK...start journaling. STOP letting life control you and put yourself higher..if not highest...on your priority list. 20 lbs may not seem like much to some, but we know it is the sneaky 20 that is a result of feeling/getting out of control and it is life threatening, or at least detrimental times 10 to a great life...and we only have one!
I agree with the poster that said get back to basics. Do what you CAN do. Journal, drink water, boost protein, if you can't walk - lift weights (soup cans, milk jugs, laundry detergent), start down the road and you'll see so many ideas come back to you!! YOU ARE WORTH IT!

I remember you!!! You were the that gave me a coat to wear.
Sending you many hugs and a kick in the booty to tighten the reigns on your eating. I've always heard "go back to the basics", so that's what I'll say to you. Protein first, drink your water, and the rest will fall into place hopefully. When you feel like eating something "comforting" (whatever that may be for you...chocolate, carbs, etc.), take a walk or do something to get your mind off food.
You can do it!
