Papers submitted!!!!!
Today I got a call from my nurse and she told me my papers were submitted last Friday. I was happy and nervous. I am so worried I don't know what I would do if I got anything else but APPROVED! She said to give 2-4 weeks but hopefully they respond sooner. She said if everything goes well to MAYBE expect surgery in Mid to end of July. I was hoping sooner but still that's great.
Has anyone experienced how long insurance usually takes to response? I have Medica. it's almost like I have butterflies in my stomach.....

Woohoo!! It won't be long now til' you're big day is here!!
As for my insurance, I heard back in a week (they called me to tell me I was approved) and my insurance was Blue Cross (out of state). Hopefully you'll hear something sooner than the 2-4 weeks they are anticipating. Be sure to keep us posted!

I am playing that same waiting game. My paperwork was submitted to the insurance company on 5/26/10. I wasn't too worried about it, since there was a holiday in there, but do you think I should start to bug somebody? I don't have a number for the insurance company--any idea where I'd get that? Should I call the number on the card?
I, too, have butterflies...
Good luck, I hope you hear back quickly.

So great that you heard back already!!
I followed up with my insurance company, and it's a good thing I did. They didn't even have record of a claim being submitted (it was faxed on 5/25).
I called the drs office, and the insurance person for my surgeon really went to bat for me. She called me later to tell me she was on the phone with the insurance company for an hour straight! She has to resubmit it (the insurance company has NO IDEA where the original submission went), but they have opened a case and assigned someone specific to handle it.
Maybe I'll hear soon, too. Maybe?
