Back on the trail
Hello!
Well, today is my first day climbing back onto the path with a liquid diet! I decided to take it all the way back to the liquid aspect of the journey in order to try and shrink my stomach back to somewhere near where it used to be. I also need to retrain my brain and stomach's communication so that when I transition to solids from liquids I will be able to stop eating when I am full before I become over full and sick.
Unfortunately I had to revise my exercise routine for the next three weeks since I severely sprained my ankle a week ago and am stuck in a boot until June 11th.
I am afraid the most difficult part of this whole thing is going to be trying to educate my boyfriend of how/what I will need to eat since he was not around when I had my surgery...he actually did not meet me until I was 1 1/2 years out.
So, any suggestions on re-starting and staying on the path are welcome! I hope that perhaps this time I can maintain the loss I accomplish!
Thanks!
Nicole

I just wanted to wish you well as you work to get back on track. As you have found out for yourself, there is life after weight loss surgery with all it joys and challlenges. You already know the rules. The hard part is trying not to rationalize reasons to avoid them when faced with those challenges. The only bit of advice I have for you is strive to be at least 90% compliant with those rules, which leaves room for you to forgive yourself when you aren't perfect in that regard, so you can move on and not give up when things get tough physically or emotionally
Take care,
RP.

Thank you so much for your post! I struggled this morning as I lay half awake with a craving for a donught....luckily I was able to overcome the craving and stick with the protien shake for breakfast as well as avoiding other sweet temptations throughout the day.
I think you are right about allowing for room to make mistakes I believe that, that may be what go me here in the first place is one mistake led to doubt about my ability to maintain so I gave up.
I hope all is going well for you in the world of maintaining after WLS and in your life as well.
Light and Peace.
