Gallstones
I know this is kind of a common thing, developing gallstones after having surgery (since I still have my gallbladder), so I thought I'd check in with those of you that have dealt with this.
I had my 6 month post-op check-up today & I was talking with them about my frequent headaches (which I will be following up with my primary doc & neurologist about since they are more specialized in that area) and about my frequent nausea & stomach pains. Since the pain has been on my right side a lot lately they decided to order an ultrasound. I just heard back from them regarding the results & I have gallstones. I have an appt. with my surgeon tomorrow morning & since I've been having a lot of discomfort & nausea they'll be scheduling a surgery date tomorrow to remove my gallbladder as well.
So, here in lies my question...
What is the recovery time like with the gallbladder surgery? I only ask since I have a couple big things coming up that I can't miss (a girls trip out of town next weekend & a family vacation to South Dakota for 5 days leaving in 3 weeks). I'm not sure when my surgeon will be able to get me in for the gallbladder surgery, but I want to try to plan it so that I don't miss these events nor wreck them with me being in pain from recovery (if there really is that much pain that comes with this surgery??).
Any insight you guys could provide me I would greatly appreciate it! This is just bad timing, but at least I have the culprit of some of my pain & discomfort figured out & now I can get it resolved soon.

If you remember Melissa, you were watching Taylor when I had my gallbladder surgery. I went shopping the day I had my surgery, and was only on pain meds for a day or so. The relief from not having the pain and nausea was such a relief though! The biggest issue was not lifting anything for a few days, and the discomfort from the gas.
You should be fine!! Good luck! Is Laguna doing your surgery again?

Oh, and one more question...
For those of you that have had your gallbladder out after weight loss surgery -
I know some people have to change their eating habits after having their gallbladder out, but since our eating habits are so changed already is there anything different that you had to do after having your gallbladder removed? Just wondering...
