I decided to hit it hard this week and challenge myself with exercise and a LD.....I know you guys will keep me accountable... I will post everyday if, NO when I make my goal.....

My goal for exercise is:
Monday- 60 min. treadmill    Did it, YAY
Tuesday- 90 min. treadmill    Half way there will do another round tonight
Wednesday- 120 min. treadmill
Thursday- 150 min. treadmill
Friday- home gym since it's my (overdue) 2 year check up

Yesterday had a 3 pound WL......

Thanks for helping me, Kelly

Got in my 90 min. now.....According to my treadmill I burned 855.2 calories......YAY......And my calorie intake once I have my dinner (protein shake) for the day is 905 calories.....

I have been a lurker for a while, but I felt compelled to respond to this.  While setting goals for exercising is awesome, 2+ hours on the treadmill may not be the best thing.  A good exercise plan includes a cardio (treadmill) workout , a muscle (weights) workout and some rest.  Muscle is what burns the fat.  Lots of cardio will burn some fat, but likely won't give you the long term outcome you are looking for.

Hi,

Yes, I totally agree with you.....

I'm just trying to get back on track with learning to get in exercise everyday....I'm just doing this for this week....Then next week I will alternate home gym and treadmill.....

Plus my treadmill tells me what I burn off, and that's important for me to know.......

Wowser, looks like a have a long way to go in the exercise arena. I have been pretty content with my daily 30 min 200 calorie walks....Maybe that is one reason the rate of loss has slowed!

Hi, it's really all about calories in and calories out.....If your WL has slowed you might want to consider adding another 30 minutes to your daily walks.....Or start to bike ride.....

The scale has proven to me once again exercise is key......I'm down 7 pounds now this week already.....

Plus summer is right around the corner, hasn't felt like it this week, but it's coming.......So getting out for walks/bike rides will be so much more fun.....My hubby and I plan to pick out a different state park every other weekend to go hiking/biking.....I'm super excited for that.

PRHeitz - You are at about 3 months post-op and therefore, Kelly's exercise regime should not even be considered. What you are currently focused on is good. Stick to it. The rate of loss will slow from time to time, but over the course of a year, you'll be amazed at how much you lost! Take it in stride.

Paul,

Check with your clinic at how much exercise you should be getting in....My clinic said after week 4 I should get in a minumum of 60 minutes a day.....
