Got my date!

After a little bit of hassle with the hospital forgetting to fax in the prior approval request to my insurance company, I have a date set for surgery.  I have to say that when I called and got that news I was very excited...now a bit nervous.

I am still anxious to get the process started, but thining of all the changes I have been trying to make and will have to make in just a little over a week...kind of overwhelming sometimes.  I don't post often on the boards..mainly like to read what is going on and the great questions and answers people have, but had to see it in writing that I am really set to do this!  It makes it more real when you see it in black and white for some reason.

CONGRATS on getting a date!!!  You have a week and a half to get your head in the game, make the decision that you're gonna DO THIS RIGHT!!!

Don't worry if you get scared, have fears about "what if....?" and all, that's totally normal - just start NOW with the new habits you'll need after the fact!  It'll help you in the long run!

YAY YOU!!!

Congrats on getting a date, how exciting!!    And, being nervous and totally normal, we all were.  These next 10 days or so will fly by as you make your final preparations for your big day.  Don't hesitate to post more or ask any questions as they may arise before your big day!

Congrats on getting your date!

I would agree with the previous posters, get your head in the right place now, and it will make it so much easier after.  Not to say it is still not a challenge, because it is, but easier.

I would recommend a support group, whether you choose one from your clinic or meet with a coffee group from here.  Nobody knows what we are going through better than those who are doing it with you or that have been there!!!  I am soooo thankful to have the South of the River group that I have met up with, the people are SUPER GREAT!!

Keep us posted and best wishes.  Making room for you on this side of the bench!

Didn't recognize your surgeon, so had to look him up. I hope they update his stats on here - looks like he's just starting out in bariatrics.

 Congrats on your decision!

I checked that out too when I first got on this site, but pretty sure he has been doing it for a few years now.  Trained under Dr. Smith at the same place.  What I have heard has been good things about him...I hope! : )
