I'm not at my goal yet, but so far a couple WOW moments that have happened recently are:

- I'm wearing a size pants & shirts that I don't remember ever wearing (I know I'm sure I wore them at some point maybe in early high school, but never in my adult life).  So, I'm super happy about that!!  - Size 14/16 pants & size XL/1X shirts-

- Having people that haven't seen me in a long time do a double take since they don't recognize me.  I'll be going up to my parents lake this weekend & again in a couple weeks (on Memorial Weekend) and they haven't seen me since the end of last summer, so I'm excited to see what they all think (since I'm about 100 lbs. lighter since the last time they all saw me.

- The biggest WOW moment of all is all the energy I have now!!  Just having the WANT to do things is amazing.  Before my surgery I never wanted to do things & I never had the energy to do things & now that's all I want to do is get out & walk or bike with the family...it's GREAT (and one of my main reasons for wanting to do this surgery)!!!

Even though I've been struggling with no weight loss due to weekly IV fluid therapy, I did have a wow moment last night.

My boss took us to the Twins game, and I fit in the seat!!  I had wiggle room for my hips, my stomach didn't flow over onto anyone else.  I giggled everytime I sat down!!

WOW moments are fabulous, I'm glad you posted this, Marsha!

My most recent I guess was yesterday.  I saw my PCP for my "diabetes check" (even tho he's pretty comfortable saying I no longer HAVE diabetes - once you have had it, you continue to wear the label.)

He looked over all my labs, did my foot check, praised me for how well I've done and continue to do at 3 years out, and more or less chit-chatted with me about life for a while.  It was probably a bit more personal than it should have been between a doctor and a patient, but we have, more-or-less, become friends.  He's the one who suggested I consider WLS in the first place, he has been a serious cheerleader all along, and it seems like as long as I feel good and my labs look good, he's happy to just talk about life!

I still get nervous going in to doctor's appointments.  45 years of DREAD can't be erased in 3.  But it's LOVELY to see my doctor and NOT get "THE TALK" about my weight problem anymore!

OK - I had two over the weekend too.

Went to my great nephew's 2nd birthday party (on Saturday), have not seen that side of the family since I had my surgery, 7 weeks ago (today)!

Needless to say, I got quite a few that were like - holy chit Kel - you look AWESOME!  Man, let me just say, that sure makes a person feel good!

Got on the scale Sunday - officially down 50 lbs!! another WOW moment.

I get to go shop for an outfit for a wedding this weekend, will let you know if I have any moments then, or if it is as dreadful as I remember shopping to be.  I am not quite sure I want to do this yet!

Thanks for listening and thanks for asking Marsha!

WOW: Today is my one year surgeaversary!  The time has gone so fast.  It's been a wonderful year.
WOW: While spending days at the hospital with my husband during his RNY surgery in February he told his nurse that I had WLS 8 months before.  She was shocked.  She gave me the nicest compliment I have received yet.  She said " I would never have guessed you had WLS. You look naturally slim"   YES!!  I'm not at my doctor's goal, and I don't know that I ever will be.  I've lost about 70 pounds and I'm satisfied and feel great just were I am.
Loving were I'm at.
