I had RNY through Southdale and Dr. Pierce was my surgeon.  I am about 16 months out.  I don't make it too coffee as often as I should, but will try and get there this Sat.

WOW!!  Thank you all for the support and responses.  Seeing how the MN board is so quiet I wasnt sure what would happen.  I am going to take your advice and start going to the coffee meetings when I am able. 
I just got back from my first official visit.  I got a lot of questions answered and feel so much better about the surgery.  I also made the decision to for go go with RNY and not lapband.  I didnt realize it but I also have to decide which surgeon I want.  I didnt know I had to choose him!  Time for more research  and anyone that had it done at Southdale, if you want to share any good or bad about your surgeon I would appreciate that. 
Well time to head to my pysch appoinment.

i had surgery  1 year ago. i live in norwood but work in chaska so i would be happy to meet up with you sometime and we could chat. I am so happy that i made this decision- best choice i ever made. funny- i just bought a car from new prague. wendy

If your looking for good Surgeon, Dr. Luis Laguna is a very good surgeon. My wife is a Nurse there and she highly recommends him. Come to the Burnsville/Eagan Coffee and you'll meet a bunch of us fun loving people!!! This week starts at 8am at the Panera Bread at Burnsville Mall. Hope to see you there!

Thank you for the recommendation on docs!  I have 3 to choose from.  My daughter has a Lacrosse game this weekend but not sure what time yet.  If possible I will see all at Panera!
