I am considering weight loss surgery mainly the lapband. I know of three people who has had surgery. Is there always excess skin or does this depends on the individual person. Has anyone had the lapband procedure if so is there a lot of excess skin with this surgery.

The type of procedure does not affect the amount of excess skin.  The amount of excess is reflective of your journey to get to where you are and alot has to do with your age.

I agree with Paul. It depends also on how much you drink water & exercise.

I am 60 and for me, loose skin is a byproduct of losing a large amount of weight over a shorter period of time, however, it is sometimes eased in younger people. I had 40 years of being overweight, My body just can't shrink it all up in 6 months.
I get losts of positive comments of how well I look, I am SO thankful for shirts!! My body  doen't look so pretty in the mirror. BUT my goal was to be healthier and I am achieving that.
I feel so much better and have tons more energy, loose skin? Oh well, I can either live with it or work on that issue next.
