Finally some answers!
I had my scope today, and they believe they discovered what the problem was. I have a large ulcer - covering about 1/4th of my entire pouch. Every time I ate or drank something, the ulcer was aggravated resulting in pain and nausea. The good news is that the ulcer isn't bleeding yet, which is lucky because with the amount of blood thinners I'm taking right now, it could cause some major issues.
The doctor at MN Gastroenterology prescribed a soluble Prevacid tab - in a high dose - which should help resolve the issue with time. The downside is that my insurance currently doesn't cover it, so they are trying to get the med pre-approved. I paid cash for 3 days worth just to get started, and it was $50! One month is worth $395, which I cannot afford. I was told that since I am on Warfarin I will probably be on some sort of med like this for life. This could get pretty costly, so hopefully insurance will approve it.
I'm still struggling with fluids, despite the 3 new meds I'm on, so I have to go back for IV therapy again tomorrow and Saturday. This is the 4th time, and I'm only 7 weeks out today. I feel so lethargic today, my skin is sooo dry, and my skin has lost it's elasticity, so I know it's a necessary evil.
Hopefully things will start healing soon, and I can go back to eating/drinking normally.
Thank you all for listening to my rants, and for being so supportive

Glad to hear they finally found out what is going on. Say, you might want to check Medvantx https://www.medvantxrx.com/ for prescriptions. I have coverage for prescriptions, but find this is a much better way to go. It is NOT insurance, you just order your meds and at WAY CHEAPER rates. My boyfriend had a kidney transplant 16 years ago, so he uses 6 meds, and some are quite expensive. We are saving almost $400 a month using this option. Might be worth checking out for you, I know we love it.
Keep your chin up!!

No doubt this is NOT the journey you hoped to have when you decided to have WLS. I give you a lot of credit for dealing with the issues as they have come up and taken the necessary measures to figure it out. While the cost of the medicine is high, relief must come in knowing a med can help get you through this period.
Will you be able to go off the Prevacid once the ulcer is healed or does the specialist not feel that will happen?

I was told yesterday that due to the fact that I'm on warfarin, I will always have to be on some sort of acid blocker so that I don't get another ulcer, or worse a bleeding ulcer. Whether or not it is the expensive Prevacid, or something else, I'm not sure which.
Yeah!! Another medication to be on for life!. Oh well, if it prevents this happening again I will survive!!

Can you take Lansoprazole? If so 15mg or 30mg. Cuz I have a much cheaper alternative, but it would take a few weeks to get. I get our Omperozole from India, my Son was on it from birth until he was 5 yrs old. But you'd have to go through me to get it. Let me know and I am happy to help.
So sorry you have this complication! I'm glad they are helping you out! Let me know ok?
