VENTING - emotions running amok!!!
OK - please tell me I am not going crazy!
I feel lost today - like I have lost my best friend. I am 3 weeks post-op (today), and so far, food is going pretty good for me. I struggle to get enough liquids in - but I am working on it.
It just hit me all the sudden today - my life really revolved around food. I have 2 showers to go to on Saturday - and I almost said no because I cannot eat the foods they will be serving. How sad!
I have had tears all day - just feel yucky today.
I am also having issues with my womanly "friend". Before surgery, I had not had that friend for many months (8), and now, I cannot seem to be rid of it. Is this normal??
Thanks for listening and any response is very welcome here.

HUGS......
Your hormones are running a muck and that is normal......
As far as the shower's, bring your own food, nothing wrong with doing that.....
Yep, food for all of us was #1 for so very long......Now you need to find something else to occupy your time or satisfy you......Crafts, music, exercise.......
You may want to call your OBGYN about the "Friend" issue, see if there is something she can do or give you......
BREATHE......Your Normal.... And vent all you need to.....Hang in there....

Oh I hear ya'!! Ask anyone, after surgery I was an emotional wreck! I was riding on an emotional rollercoaster for the 1st month or so post-surgery, so I know exactly what you're going through. I had a million different emotions & thoughts running through my mind all the time, like how inconvenient life felt now that I had surgery & I couldn't just eat whatever I wanted anymore, on days I wouldn't lose weight I would wonder why I wasn't, and then I had my period for the 1st couple weeks after getting home from the hospital (after not having it for awhile like you) so I was cramping & PMSing real bad. Some moments I would be happy & laughing, then I would be feeling sad & sorry for myself & crying. It gets way better, once your hormones regulate themselves a bit. Things got a lot better for me after a month out or so.
But, definitely bring your own food to the showers this weekend, or eat before you go so you're not even hungry (and then all you need to do is just drink while you're there, which will be easy to do). Either way, it's about you being there not about what you do or don't eat.
If you ever need to vent you can vent to me cuz' I know exactly how you feel. Just shoot me a message anytime you want!!

Sounds very familiar! I felt like an emotional wreck! I also did have my period for like 2 1/2 weeks following my second surgery! It all sounds normal. Just keep reminding yourself and your family that it's not going to last forever. My husband thought I had lost my mind. Once I got over that hump it was amazing how good I felt! Hang in there!
Thanks you guys, makes me feel a bit better to know this is "normal".
On an up note - the scale started moving again. Today is my weigh in day and it is down another 5 lbs. so yay!
And really - a heartfelt THANKS for me finding this site and all you super nice people. I do not think I could do this alone.
