Wondering if anyone has my surgeon...

Good afternoon! I have been lurking on this board reading posts for weeks and finally decided to ask a question. I was approved for surgery last week and scheduled my surgery for April 15th. (My liquid diet starts tomorrow. Yikes!) I am starting to get a little nervous already and am wondering if anyone has had surgery with Dr Lederer from HCMC. I don't see his name often on the message boards, but everything that I have read about him has been good so far. I am just curious if anyone has an opinion on him and if he was your surgeon what kind of results/experiences did you have? Thanks for your time! : )

Congratulation on getting a surgery date!  I didn't have surgery at HCMC so I'm no help but I wanted to invite you to the South of the River coffee group.  We meet every Saturday rotating between Eagan and Burnsville.  I started attending even before my surgery and have met some wonderful and supportive people.  This week we're meeting in Eagan at the Caribou in Byerlys, stop by!

 Good Luck with your surgery!  Frankly i thought the 2 week liquid diet was the hardest so if you can get through that, it's downhill from there!

You have Howie?  He did my revision and a hernia repair on me.  He is absolutely fantastic as a surgeon.  I would have no problem going back to him.  HCMC is also a great hospital with great staff.

I will never forget waking up from my surgery.  He was right there, with his face close up...smiling really big.  And the first thing he said was "everything went perfect my friend"

I had Dr. Lederer and I was very happy with him. Excellent bedside manner and he was very caring.

 I don't know if I should say this here...but Dr. Lederer would have been my first choice for a doctor.  I happen to know his family and know that he takes every patient to heart and they matter to him.  I really wanted to go to him, but couldn't get past the personal nature of the surgery!

However, I chose Dr. Benn because he trained with Dr. Lederer and I felt like that was the next best thing.

You will love him and I know he will be there for anything you need.
