is this normal?

I had RNY last July and have lost 90+ lbs. I am happy with all the weight I've lost, but we've had alot of things going on recently (financial issues, moving, etc.). My husband says I'm crabby alot to him and the kids and half the time, I don't even realize it. I DON'T want to be like that, especially to my family! It's gotten so bad that he thinks I want to leave him. I would think my emotions should be in check by now since I'm almost 9 mos. out but maybe not?

Thanks for any responses,
Lynn

Have you considered that you might have a touch of depression?  Irritability can be a symptom.

I'm a believer in counseling.  It has helped me so much to understand myself, especially getting one on one support when I go through changes.  Think about it - a gift you can give both yourself and your family!
All the best, Lynn.

I'm down 120 pounds - thanks to RNY!  Working on the next 25.  Then I'll tackle more...

I'm 11 months out from RNY and I still get a touch of the *****iness.  It comes and goes in waves it seems.  I was told that mood swings can be something that happens after WLS (something about fat cells releasing estrogen making hormones surge = *****iness).

If you have a lot going on  (which WOW just the 2 you listed would make me horribly stressed & moody) that can affect your mood even more along with a "hormone dump" as I've been calling it.  I know you said financial issues but maybe see if there's a counselor you can talk to or a support group for WLS people in your area?

 There's another option...

Maybe this has nothing to do with your weight loss?

Maybe it's just the stress of your current situation?

THANK YOU!!!

To have someone acknowlege the POSSIBILITY that not all of life's post-WLS struggles are WLS-related?

HOW REFRESHING!!!!
