Finally going to have Brachioplasty Surgery

After, what seems like FOREVER, I am finally going to have my surgery. I started the journey in December. Dr. Lokeh was going do the surgery, but after 3 cancelled dates, I decided to go with a different doctor. Not sure what was going on with Dr. Lokeh, but something didn't seem right.

I am now going with Dr. Thao, in Oakdale in MN. I got the insurance approved by insurance with Dr. Lokeh, so it was kind of a pain to switch doctors because I had to start the whole insurance approval process again. I was told the insurance could just "switch" the prior auth to a different dr, not the case, had to re-do everything with the new doctor.

So I am scheduled to have surgery April 14th. I am excited and nervous. This time around it actually seems real, like it is really going to happen.

Congrats on getting this all worked out! I would love to follow your progress through the surgery, what you think of your doc, how you got insurane to cover, etc.

I am over half way to goal and already know that besides a panniculectomy, I will need brachioplasty to get rid of the ever flopping batwings!

Best of luck to you!!!!

First, Congratulations on getting approved!

Second, HOW did you get BCBS to approve it?  I have bat wings that are off the charts horrendous already and am going to need the surgery.

Would love to take you to lunch and pick your brain and hear more about it.. Let me know if you'd be willing to do that..

Agreed, congrats on getting insurance to cover it.  I did a consult with Dr Thao.  I ended up going with another Dr... Hindsight?!  I hope all goes well, can't wait to hear.

And yes, how did you get insurance to cover it? I know you cannot post that info here, but would love more info if you can PM me.

Congrats on your approval & date!! Best wishes to you on the 14th! Will someone post for you after surgery?
