Another Wow Moment
Last night as I was getting ready for bed, I looked in the mirror and discovered that I really was smaller. I put on a nightgown that was down 2 sizes from what I wore for over 10 years. I pondered how much I would need to lose to get into my wedding dress again. I got married 13 years ago, and was significantly smaller. My dress was a size 20.
I thought I'd try the dress on, to see how far I had to go. I put it on, and zipped it up. It was a tiny bit snug in the waist (I had worn a compression garment like Spanx for my wedding), but it fit. I was almost brought to tears.
I told my husband that I had 2 goals regarding my marriage/wedding. I wanted to fit back into my wedding dress. I also wanted to wear a much smaller one when we renewed our vows (his idea) in Hawaii in a couple of years.
I can't believe that I have already accomplished the first half of the goal. My husband joked that just wait until next month when my wedding dress would be too big.
You should have seen the smile on his face when he saw me in my dress. WOW was the only thing he could say. We were both stunned that such a miraculous change was happening from just October when I started to lose weight before surgery.
I just had to share. I still feel giddy!!

It's funny you mentioned that about your wedding dress. I just asked my son to get mine out of the basement (it's up high and buried by stuff). I realized that I'm about 12 lbs. more than I was when I got married. Of course, I was so upset that I was so fat for for my wedding. If I had only known what the future held for me.... It's been over 36 yrs. since that day and I want to try it on on Thurs. - my one year surgery anniversary.
Congrats to you and all your success so far and much more to come...j

Wow - that is so exciting!
I got married just over 10 years ago... unfortunately, my wedding dress may serve as one of those "before" garments! LOL
