Sensitive pouch

So my earlier problem with the pureed ham was only the start of the problem.  After being told to stick to clear liquids yesterday, I still couldn't manage to get those down.  I was able to only get in around 24 oz total fluid yesterday.  The nausea, wooziness and dizziness wouldn't let me get any more in, even with taking the Zofran.

Today was even worse.  My clinic called me and told me to get in 70 ounces today to try to make up for yesterday.  No such luck.  I've managed around 14 ounces so far, and it's 4pm already!   The nausea and wooziness has been around all day, even with the Zofran.  Every time I take a sip, I can feel my stomach cramping.  The pain from it has gotten worse as the day goes on.

They have me booked in for IV therapy for the next three days, they say it will help.  Has anyone had a similar issue?  I'm kind of bummed because now my intro to pureed foods have been set back a week.

So sorry to hear this......I know some people had problems with drinking cold water.....Have you tried water at room temperature?

Hopefully the IV therapy will help....Good luck, Kelly

I'm so sorry you're going through this!
I am glad they're bringing you in though so that you can, hopefully, get through the nausea and dizziness...that's the worst!

I hope you find some relief soon!

Oh my!! I hope things get better for you real soon.  It seem everybody reacts different to everything.  I think it might be a good idea too that you are going in. Take care of yourself .

Remember that there is an awful lot of swelling and inflammation resulting from surgery; which I am told is even slower to heal on the inside.  Your pouch and the healing may be angry.  Although, if you feel you want to go see your Dr. to have him scope you to see visually if there is an unplanned blockage or other disruption, don't hesitate.  I went for 12 hours of pain before deciding to go check and I am glad I went in to have the observation, as they found the source of the problem.

I know you're not afraid to speak your mind, so remember to be an advocate for your health if you sense something is not quite right.  Always trust your instinct, as we cannot know what you're exactly going through.

There is no right answer because this does take time.  There is no right answer because there can be blockages or obstructions in certain cases.  There is no right answer because each time is distinctly different.
