Yippee skippy for me!!!

I'm down to 164.2... thats just an itty bitty bit shy of -75 lbs! Whoo hoo!
I have lost 64% of the estimate of I should lose and I'm even a bit above avg loss to this point(avg is 74% at 12 months) so I should be at least 74% at the next visit!  RN said I'm well on my way and doing all the things I should be to maintain a healthy lifestyle and eating habits! I should hit goal weight by June/July!

Dietitian and I talked a new plan about eating since I get up at 4am to go to work and I don't get home until nearly 7pm to eat dinner (taking the bus to work lengthens my day)
So Now I am planning 4 meals a day on the days I work (m-th, four 10's).
Also planning breakfast meals to get more protein in with my breakfast (adding some meat in or cottage cheese or eggs instead of yogurt- carbs are not sustaining me)...

I now am in a size 10 jean... can you say KRAZY?

I'm perplexed though.. I weighed 10 lbs less than I do now when I graduated high school and wore a size 12 jean then.. so how can I weigh 10 lbs more now and fit in a 10? Anyone can answer that? I don't care, I'll take it.. just curious!

I LOVE MY RNY!!

The difference in size 12 vs. 10 and the weight thing?

I believe it's probably because of bone density.  The one benefit to being obese for a stretch of time (or a lifetime, in my case!) is that our bones actually increase in density to accomodate our poundage.  And bones are heavier than fat - so if we're smart and take our supplements, we WON'T lose bone density as we DO lose the fat - therefore we CAN weigh more but be thinner looking!

Does that make sense?  I say - our bones are like lead pipes.  People are often quite surprised when I tell them I still weigh over 200 pounds, because they think I look more like 180-ish.

Bone Density.  It's a good thing.

That's just great, Stacy!   You look so good.  It was fun to see you Saturday and see your progress.  You are so cute and perky!  Enjoy your success and keep it going - it's inspiring.

I'm down 120 pounds - thanks to RNY!  Working on the next 25.  Then I'll tackle more...

Darla hit the nail on the lead pipe.  Heavy bones.  That's why I will never weigh 135 lbs again even though people think I do.  Actually I'm at 160 lbs and wear a size 8 and a small top.  If I got a thigh lift, my bottoms would go smaller than that.  (need room for the gobs-o-skin down there)

So there was one good thing about carrying around 300+ lbs for as long as I did.  My bones are dense!

Thanks for the reminder about the bone density thing.. I'm 164 now and my goal is 145-150 so I guess since I've been a chubby kid and obese teen/adult my whole life, I have the good bone density too! I don't think I'll ever get in the 130's.. just seems too small!

I am loving it! I am going summer shoe shopping next weekend when I get paid too.. its the first time in so many years I can't count them that my feet are "thin" again and can fit in fun strappy sandals! whoot whoot!

CAN YOU SAY FUN OR WHAT?

Yippee for you is right, Stacy!   You are doing mahvelously!

I think the sizing thing is crazy, too, because I weigh more than I did in my 20's and 30's but get to wear smaller pants!   Another thing I consider is that my ass is missing!   That surely accounted for a size or two before!

Anyway, you go, girl!    Looking forward to seeing you before too long.

OMG Stacy that's SO freakin awesome!!!!!!!!  So fricking proud of you =)  I was up there for my 9 month in February.

I'm a size 10 now.  I don't remmeber ever being a size 10 even in high school.  Hell, when I graduated high school I was wearing a size 19 juniors I think!  I was probably size 14 in 8th grade I'm sure.  I bet it's a bone density thing - plus, maybe you're smaller in your bottom half now than you were in HS?  Not sure.

I'm back up there at the end of May for my 12 month.  I'll let you know when I'll be around maybe we can meet up for 5 minutes or something ;)
