had surgery on Monday
If you're familiar with heartburn and it feels like heartburn, well, it could BE heartburn! I never really had any issues with it pre-op (except when I'd drink orange or grapefruit juice), but PNC sent me home on a prescription antacid anyway. Which tells me it's not unusual for people to experience that just out of surgery.
But the gas issue - yeah, I prayed someone would jab me with a pitchfork for about the first 10 days! The more you walk, the better it gets. Just don't expect it to happen overnight.
