Just wondering how things have changed for couples.  I am wondering how things will go both  with my husband's experiences and mine.

he was a real trooper this week, but hit his wall tonight and has been in bed for hours.  I hope he can handle the ride with this!

My marriage is the same as before...... I think he gets sick of me always babbling on when I lose weight or whatever...... I think he gets a little weird when other men pay attention to me, or whistle as they drive by.............but for the most part it is the same as before surgery..............  Good luck...............

I honestly don't think my weight has ever mattered to my husband, and he has been great through all this.  He gets a lot more attention and affection now since I feel better and have more energy, so he is very supportive.  We have always had a very good marriage, so the WLS has just made it better for us.  They say that if you had a good marriage before, WLS can make it better, but if you had a bad or non-supportive one before, the changes often lead to problems and divorce.

I am sure once things get back to "normal" for you your husband will be just fine!

I have a good marriage, thank you God!  My husband kept saying "are you sure you want to do this?"  He is always nervous about surgery etc (ya know the kind that won't take an asprin for a headache?)  So I wasn't sure how he'd handle the aftermath.  I had a really tough 1st month and now feel great.  His support has never waivered.  He just is amazed how I have just melted.  He sees me more comfortable and moving well and it makes him happy when I am happy.  He even finds things at the grocery store for me that might sit well in my finicky pouch, it's cute.

So I guess this places me firmly in the "good and just keeps getting better" category thankfully.

I can see how this could be a lot for another person.  Especially when it seems to consume us as we get used to our new bodies and lives.  I hope your husband can stick with you as you work the tool and have great success.

Mine has actually improved after surgery.  Things were good before surgery, but I definitely had taken on the roll of caretaker and now it's more equal because after surgery he HAD to take on some (all) of the responsibilities in the house/with our child.  So he understands more of where I'm coming from when I talk to him about doing things around the house.
