I have been in alot of pain from and back injury and was told to take some kind of anti-inflammatory to help with pain Tylenol  doesn't even touch the pain.
Any suggestions since anti-inflammatory meds are supposed to be a no-no?
Thanks

Jennifer

My doctor gave me Celebrex to knock down the pain.  I need to take extra Prilosec to make sure it does not disrupt the pouch.

Hey sweetie -

Remember Nurse Dave?  He told me that for pain Tylenol won't touch, it's okay to take Advil Liquigels once in a while.  As I understand it, the pills sitting inside the stomach/pouch is what causes the irritation - the liqui-gel form of the ibuprofen dissolves more quickly in the pouch, therefore minimizing the time it sits in there.  I have my lovely knee issue, which is MUCH MORE TOLERABLE since having lost so much weight - but it will still bother me after a long day on my feet.  One or maybe two of the liquigels is a GOD SEND!

Nurse Barb from PNC told me the same thing as Darla...the Advil liquid gels occasionally...and I take them with a cracker or something as well.

My Dr ok'd ibuprophen or Aleve very occassionaly but only for 2-3 days.

You can also ask for Tramadol, that seems to work and is ok to take or Celebrex.  But that can be expensive or not approved by your ins.

Hope you feel better.
