tight band thing

How long do I need to wear this thing around my middle?  they didn't say.  Is it better with or without it.?
Help? 

Can you be more specific?  Are you talking about the elastic band that they give you post-op to hold everything in?  If so, I think it's about a week, but the surgeon can answer that.  I still wear mine, and it's been 7 years.  (Just kidding)

 Sorry, I was talking about the velcro band on my midsection.  I loosened it a little bit and it seems to be less uncomfortable for me!
Sorry to be so vague...

I just used it as long I needed it. When I started walking more, it felt good to have it on. If I was resting, I rarely had it on....

I wore mine about 2 weeks or so, you'll know when you don't have to wear it anymore. Good Luck to you. I am coming up to my 1 year anniversary, had some issues in the beginning but never regretted anything for a moment!

 Thanks so much for all of the info.  I have been wearing it, have had to take it off as I have red, hot blotchiness on both of my sides where it rubs.  I can definitely feel the difference when I walk from not having it!
