OK - Newbie here - did not know they had this by state
Hey everyone -
Took me some time, but I found Minnesota Message Boards!
I am having RNY surgery on 3/16 - just started my liquid diet today - so far so good. Although food really smells nummy around work today!
I hope to find some friends to help me through my journey - that can understand what I am doing and going through. I have a mixed group at work, some support while others say I am taking the easy road and are just totally against it.
Thanks for reading and hope to talk to people.
I'm excited for you & your upcoming surgery. I'm 3 months post-op myself & I've loved my journey so far! If you ever want to talk or have any questions definitely send me a message, I'm always here!!
Keep us posted on how you're doing both before & after your surgery. The liquid diet part of things is no fun, but it'll go by real fast & your big day will be here before you know it!

Sugar Free popscicles really helped me through some tough times after surgery, plus they count as water intake.....
As the others said, there are plenty of coffee get togethers on Saturdays, come join one......

Thanks for all the warm welcomes!!
I am on day 3 of my liquid diet - and so far I am doing well! Bonus for this is - I am already down 7 lbs! yay My guy and I walked a mile last night too - I had to really push myself, but I did it.
I am busy with getting things in order before surgery, and with my girls. We are just completing a move back with my boyfriend (long story - ask me sometime!) lol But I will certainly try to make a coffee saturday, I will be needing as much support as I can get.
Thanks again everyone - I will be here as much as I can as well.
As for those who suggest you're taking the easy way out? I'll add a link here (once I can grab it) to give you a little perspective on that notion. Imean, in some ways?ItISeasierthan NOThaving WLS - we have an incredible tool to help us! But in many ways, it's a *****!Because we've lost our best friend, our handiest coping mechanism for life stresses. And we ALLhave life stresses.
So I say - blow 'em off. Do what you need to do for YOUfor once. We've all been so preoccupied with doing for others that we've always put ourselves last. NOMORE.
Hope to meet you at a coffee someday!
