Rules Writen, Rules Broken

It has occured to me that there are two types of rules that get written and often broken.

1) Rules your body writes for you.

2) Rules you write for your body.

Rules your body writes for you are ones that if you violate it, you pay a price, generally within hours.  For instance, your body may have a rule against sugar.  You violate, you pay.

Rules you write for your body are ones that that may take weeks, months, or years to pay the price if you violate.  For instance, you may have a rule that says "every day I will take my B12"  If you don't, after awhile you will pay.

Can you reply to this post and share one rule in each category that you try to live by?  Share the rule and the consequence if you violate it.

I'll start:

Rule 1: My body tells me you may not eat ANYTHING after 7pm.  There will be hell to pay when you fall asleep if you violate this rule.

Rule 2: If you do not exercise frequently and get your heart rate up, you will live in plateau land.

1) Eat enough fiber or you will become a brick factory.
2) Regular exercise helps carry me past bad days when the fork is mightier than my will.

1. Drink enough water and you will have sore tired muscles, become a "brick factory" (Love that one RP!) and wake up with a headache in the morning
2. Exercise you will not go down in size

Rule #1 - if you eat too much sugar, you WILL get an atomic bellyache, and unleash hideous gasses regardless of WHO you're with.

Rule #2 - I take my supplements every single day (even the nasty, chalky varieties of calcium!), because I've witnessed a few instances of not nice things happening to people who don't - and I do NOT want to be one of them.

1) If I eat bread or pasta.... it will go down like a brick and hurt bad.

2) If I overeat and don't move my butt, I plateau.

Rule #1--I cannot tolerate sugar alcohols.  I get HORRIBLE bloating, like I am pregnant!, and the pain is awful.  I have been doubled in pain on my bedroom floor as a result.  Never again...unless I want that reaction!

Rule #2--I need to work my program everyday in a whole-istic approach.  I can't JUST focus on my food, my exercise, etc, but have to focus on my body as a whole.  I need to balance everything by being mindful of my eating, my movement, my mental health, my relationships, my happiness.

Michael, I can't help commenting on you feeling like you're pregnant!  LMAO!!  That's like in Hawaii, when they compare the taste of poi to wall paper paste - someone INEVITABLY asks - 'have you actually TASTED wall paper paste???'

hehehe...  you funny boy!
