So I had my first appointment today.  OMG was it a long day!!!! They told me it wouldbe 3 - 4 hours, it was more 4-5 hours...OMG!!! But I am glad I started the journey.  I had my nurse appointment, Dr Meet, lab work, EKG, psyc testing/  My next appt is next week and I get the results of lab and the EKG and Psyc testing..they tell me if I am sane...HAHAA!! and meet the dietician.  ANother 3-4 hour day.  I guess its half days off of work instead of 2 hours a day off work.  I hope everything goes good.  Glad to have just started the first step towards my new journey.

Good for you!  This is a great place to learn from a lot of people.  None of us has the right answer, but all of us, together, have all of the answers.

This is a safe place to teach and learn.

Welcome to the crazy hectic road that leads to a new future for us.  It's a rough ride, but I know that we will be better and stronger for it in the end.  Congratulations!

Thanks everybody for your support.  My next set of appointments is next week.  Then I start with the dietician for 3 months.  So I hoping by summer.  i was really hoping to have had it done before my son's graduation this summer.  But I guess it won't happen but I have hope that it will later than sooner.

I had a total of 3 dietician visits too (my intial one & then 2 more follow-up ones).  At first I was like "wow, these have to be spaced one month apart each?!?!  That's gonna take awhile."  But you'll see the time will fly by in no time at all.  It helped to better prepare me for the life post-surgery, plus with other doctor visits along the way (both with my primary & with my weight loss clinic) those few months until my surgery seem to just fly by (when in the beginning I thought they were gonna take forever).  Summer will begin & so will your new life post-surgery!
