I am Vitamin D defficient.  Does anyone know if this can cause a problem in WLS?  I just need to take 2000 iu a day.

Vitamin D is called the sunshine vitamin. Before I started WLS my doctor put me on 25,000 units a day for a month, then 2000 units a day afterwards. I can tell you that after a month or so, All of a sudden, I felt good, life was worth living. It is true I did start to lose weight and that was a partial factor, but I think it was the vitamin D that got me out of by blue funk.

Thanks...I am sure a lot of me feeling down has a lot do to with feeling situational depressed and vitamin D.  But my first appt for everything starts Monday.  Not sure what I will find out before I leave but I hope I know something to make me feel that I am going down (or should I say Up) the reight path.

I had to take it too and my doc said that it's common for people who live in the Northern states to be defficient in the winter time because seldom of us spend the amount of time needed in the sun due to the cold temperatures.
