looking in the mirror
When I look in the mirror I see me as being big again. I swear I have gained weight but when I weigh myself I am still at 170-172. the lowest i have gotten myself down to is 166 and yes i have gained a couple pounds but within the last week or 2 I feel really big. My clothes still fit, sometimes I think my shirts are getting smaller but I think it is my imagination......... What the heck is up with that? Do any of you go through this? I haven't felt this way in awhile and I don't like feeling like this. I Think I might feel this way when I eat something I shouldn't........or eat more than a cup of food which I do............. I wi**** wouldn't be so hard...........food is so powerful and I hate it............. Just need a swift kick in the too****hink....................
Thanks for listening.....................

Me too.....Only I have gained 15 pounds in the past year......
I was a size 6/8, now I'm a size 8.....
I hate food too......I get sick when I sit down to a meal, it's easier on my tummy to snack all day, Argh.....I'm lost......Part of me just feels like I should just have protein shakes and nothing else till I can get back on track.....
I need a swift kick too......

SOunds like the carb monster has taken hold of you by the neck and is taking over. You need to ignore his chanters of..have this, have that and knowing full well it is carb after carb.
He is evil, just pure evil. He has grabbed ahold of me a couple times lately and it sucks. I just have been doing more exercises to ward off his evilness, hope it works.
Best of luck in locking him up!

I totally get the mirror thing... I have been sitting at about 170 forever.. I can't get the scale to budge and I'm only 9 mons out... My clothes don't get any smaller or tighter, but I don't feel like i'm losing either.. at least not numbers..
I am doing everything they are telling me to do.. drink the water, eat this, exercise.. what am I doing wrong? I watch my portions too.. I feel bad about myself and yes, food is powerful..
Does going back to a protein shake diet for a week jump start?

Stacy,
It can help to jump start it.....Your body might be just trying to catch up, stalls are normal.....And when you get close to goal, the weight usually really slows down.....I lost all my weight in the first 9 months....

As absolutely backwards as this sounds, sometimes you actually have to INCREASE you calories to jump start the weight loss! I know I hit an insanely long stall at @ 9 months out, and my beloved bariatric nurse told me to add a healthy snack - even tho I really haven't done the calorie counting thing, I did add a bit to my normal consumption.
Guess what happened??? It's so convoluted and contrary to what we've always "known" as dieters! But try it. You might be surprised.
(the key being - a HEALTHY snack, preferably protein-based. Don't run out and buy a bag of Easter candy!!!)
