Excited

I attended my informational session in late July 2009 & had surgery in mid November 2009, so my whole process took a little less than 4 months.  I had to have 2 dietician visits in there (which were seperated by 1 month each time), plus the psych eval & visit, then the visit with the surgeon & then everything was sent into my insurance.  I think it took about 1-2 weeks to hear back from my insurance & my surgery date was scheduled for 2 weeks after that (on a specific date that I wanted/wished for).  I hadn't personally considered the DS surgery, but have good things about that surgery as well.  Where I had my surgery done (and where I was covered to go through my insurance) my options were limited to the LapBand & the RNY surgeries.  Out of those 2 I thought RNY was a better choice for me.  I love my decision, love the surgery, the results so far...everything is going wonderfully!

I hope through all your research in the end the right decision becomes clear to you & you feel confident in which surgery best suits you.  I can't wait to hear more of how your journey goes along the way til' your big surgery day!!
