I feel like I am unraveling.  Frustrated.  Out of control.  Trying to eat right in spite of LIFE.  Anybody?

Hi Tere,

To be honest with you, I didn't really feel like I had a grip on things until I was between 3 and 4 months out.  I also don't dump if I eat sweets in moderation, which is both a good and a bad thing.  I can eat a hershey kiss or two and not get sick, but if I tried to eat more than that I would feel like crap.  I guess what I've learned at this point (and I'm definitely still a relative newbie) is that my surgery is helping me make better choices as far as what I eat and how much I eat but it really is up to me.

I know there are people on the boards who never eat white rice again or many other things.  I have had white rice, but instead of having a cup of it, I sprinkle a little on top of the chicken or beef I am eating.  I get a little taste of it, but am eating mostly protein.

I wish you the very best on this journey.  It is a very crazy, sometimes frustrating and scary, ride.  Just know that you are not alone and most of us have been through what you're going through and it WILL get better!

Take care,

Keep going, Tere. Those frustrations will pass - and you will be smaller!  It does work.  Take care.

Thank you ladies.  I am hoping that being back on the boards and being active will help.  I bought a cookbook for high protein diets for more ideas.  I'm bored with flavors and found myself eating Doritos Cool Ranch for the zing.  EEE bad.  Today I am NOT eating them and making sure to fit all important milk/proteins/water in.    Dancercizing soon today.

Hi Tere,
For a change of pace or a zing, I use spices and peppers. I found that with spicer food you eat slower. Throwing a little med salsa in your scamble eggs gives the eggs a little kick. Just keep the faith and keep making wise choices, in the end it is still up to you to make the decision of what passes your lips. I have faith in you, girlfriend. - Cheryl
