Teeth
I have developed sensitive teeth but I am not sure if it happened prior to or after WLS. I guess I never thought about it having anything to do with surgery. I am fine as long as I use Sensodyne Pronamel toothpaste. They do make a whitening one as well as the regular one but the whitening one does not help my sensitive teeth.

Couple of ideas:
1. are you one of us lucky folks who ends up puking quite a bit? the small amount of acid our pouches have can still wear away at our tooth enamel.
2. how goes the calcium? tooth enamel is made of calcium, and if we're not getting enough in then it will wear thin just like our bones will.
3. regarding soda - are you back on the pop (Hello, my name is Lara and I'm horribly addicted to coke zero). Soda pop also eats away at tooth enamel.
Best wishes to all,
~Lara

I use prescription flouride toothpaste per my dentist and the sensitivity went away. He also suggested swishing with ACT flouride rinse at night before bed, and investing in flouride treatments at the 6 month cleanings- flouride fills in the "pores" of your teeth so food/drink can't get into the poors and zap your roots.. (I worked in teh dental field for 6+ years too)
He also mentioned that because RNY has a malnutrition aspect to it, that extra flouride will only do good in protecting my teeth too.
