Hello from Roxanne
Hi! My name is Roxanne.... I I had my RNY on the 19th of Aug, 2009. . Im almost 6 months post op. My highest weight was 286 and the day i had my surgery i was 254 and today i am now 187 and my goal is 135 and im 5 ft. 4 inches. I feel like im not losing fast enough. I was wondering if anyone felt as if it was going slow for them too or if im just too anxious to get to my goal.
I excercise 6 days a week for 60 minutes at a time and also strength train and i drink 64 ounces of water a day and getting all my protien. Hope to hear from some of you soon to maybe get some of your feedback.

Roxanne,
We all lose differently....I think your doing fine....Just stick to the program, and the exercise and you will do fine.....If you want try to mix up your workout schedule, go 90 minutes every other day. Sometimes our bodies get used of the same routine and if we mix it up a little it wakes up and inches are lost or pounds....
Good luck, but I think your doing fine....Kelly

Interval training is a great way to lose weight and challenge your body too.... dont just do 60 minutes at the same speed or intensity.... do 5 min warm up then work as hard as you can for 2 minutes, then 3 min at medium then 5 min as hard as you can and 3-4 at medium and things like that... it really jumps up your workout!

Hi Roxanne - lets put it in perspective - when is the last time you lost 70 pounds in under 6 months!?! That is fabulous!
There are times you won't see it on the scale - but maybe your clothes are fitting looser.
You are doing great!
This is a process - a journey - you are doing this for life now.
Your goal will come and then your goal will be to maintain (and many of us further out can attest) maintaining is more difficult than the losing the pounds to get to goal.
Roxanne - Congratulations on the weight lost so far! It didn't happen by its self. I also had the RNY in October and feel like the weight is not coming off as quickly as I would like. I was 298.5 at the highest, at surgery I was 266.5, at my three month check up I was 222.5 and I feel like I'm not doing something right. When I was at the office during my check up I mentioned that I thought I had not lost enough weight and the nurse said they look at 12 - 15 pounds per month as the normal average...but I guess I expected more at an earlier stage in the game. Don't get me wrong I am very happy with the surgery and losing the weight I have. I also am not a good exercise person and have started back at that in hopes it will help. My biggest problem is protein, I can not stand even unflavored Unjury!! So I struggle with eating enough protein in just food without the supplements. Continue on your journey and celebrate small scale/sizes moves!! Good luck. Donna
