Surgery's Over - No More Bag!
Had my ileostomy take-down surgery yesterday. No more bag - yay!
(Okay, so I'm not really jumping.) Love my pain pump, though. I'm hittin' that thing as often as I can 'cause right now it hurts to talk too much, and coughing is definitely tough. First thing I did when I woke up was check to see if Sybil (the stoma) was gone. It might be TMI, but I'll be here until the gas gets going again
(5-7 days), but I DID get a private room. I've been up walking today and all I can have right now are ice chips, but I'm okay with that. Just glad to say goodbye to Sybil!

Glad to hear you are doing well!
Thanks, Elena. I do hurt, though. Not so much if I'm just laying here, but when I have to walk or take deep breaths (sometimes JUST breathing!) it's worse. I don't think this pain med is working the best anymore so I'm gonna check with the doc when he comes in to see if there's anything else that will work.

Thanks, Darla. Yes, I'm THRILLED! I just knew I had to try it, and the surgeon said everything went great. He took care of some adhesions from the last surgery and now we're just waiting for everything to "wake up." I'm hanging onto my supplies for a while, skeptic that I am, but I'll donate them when I'm certain I won't need them anymore.
