Trying to get back on track

Hi, I am 4 yrs and 3 months out from a RNY Lap Bypass. I had lost a total of 110 lbs then the honeymoon was over and even though the volume of food stayed the same the weight started to come back on. I have put a total of 70 lbs back on. I need some advice on how to get the scale to start going the other way. I am starting to see old behaviors come back ie: no pictures, not wanting to go out in social settings, ect... If anyone has suggestion on how to get back on track I would welcome any feedback.

I think maintenance is harder than the weight loss.

My advice would be to try and go back to the basics - tracking your food - tracking your protein, watching the carbs and sugar, water, water, water.  Also - maybe try measuring your food out again - I know for me sometimes my idea of what a serving should be is different when I actually measure it out.

I like www.livestrong.com for tracking using their daily plate feature.  Can search by brand name or general food - and will have all the nutritional info.

I think some have done the "5 day pouch test" to get back to basics - I think it is posted somewhere here on the board.

Best of luck! You can do it!

Come on out to a Saturday coffee group - the support really helps!

Thanks, I think I will try that. Where do you meet on Saturdays? This Saturday won't work for me I have a 14 hr scrapbooking crop to go but if you meet somewhere north I would try another Saturday.

Support is HUGE.... finding a support group and being around people that are like-minded and have had weight loss surgery.

Tracking what you eat statistically helps people lose weight.... I go to Weigh****chers and that really helps.

I am not sure about Otsego.... I think someone has posted about support groups there... you could always post and see if anyone is out your way.

There is a coffee group that meets in maple grove on saturdays - someone from that end of town will probably chime in - Im not sure of the schedule.

I'm 2 years out, I lost 90 pounds and have gained 15 back, recently lost 5 pounds now.....

The maintenance stage is so hard......You can't give in one little bit to anything or all the bad habits creep back into your life....I know this because it happend to me......

I'm also trying to get back on track....I'm writting down everything I eat, going on the treadmill once a day and try to work back up to 5 miles a day, like I used to do, and I'm tracking my water intake and not drinking more than 2 cups of coffee a day.....

I'm also going back in for my 2 year appointment and tell them I need help, see what they can do for me, whether it's sitting down the nurse again and go over stuff, ????

Good luck.....We have the tool, we just need to get the fire back and do it......
