Fainting
The last few months, off and on when I go from laying on the sofa to standing, I sometimes feel dizzy, get starry, sometimes tingly face. I grab on to something, take a few quick, deep breaths and am fine. Today same thing, but I didn't get around to the deep breaths and I fainted. 1st time in my life.
I have an appointment tomorrow morning to get checked out, but do you think the likely cause is dehydration? At the time, I had probably had maybe 24oz of water. Does it matter that I'm tall? I had my 1 year check up and the doctor said my labs were all within normal range.
Just curious what you think might cause this. I wonder why THIS time I fainted, but never have before.
It was freaky, it happened as I was going to get my daughter out of her crib from her nap. I wake up staring at the ceiling in her room, she's looking at me with a blank stare. Poor thing, I bet I scared the crap out of her. Mama go boom!

I'm down 120 pounds - thanks to RNY! Working on the next 25. Then I'll tackle more...
They took my bp laying, sitting and standing and it was ok.

The doctor offered a urine test, but I didn't see the point at this stage. Flashing bars of light sound scary. Good it's not your eyes. I really have to force myself to drink because I'm not naturally very thirsty.

About 2 months ago, I started getting slight dizzy spells. Then one day at the mall I started to black out. Almost hit the floor in the pet store. I went in for lab work the next day and I had very low iron. I have had 5 iron transfusions since and feel amazingly better. One more to go. It's one thing to check into anyway. I am having testing done at the end of the month and if the levels are normal I will just take a daily supplement. I bought some Floradix with herbs liquid iron and have started taking that. They said it's easier to absorb. Since this happened, I have been doing alot of research and also found out low levels of iron can cause hair loss. I had never heard that before.
since your levels at your checkup were all within normal range, my situation is different. But if others have things like this happen, it's something to check into.
Take care,
Natalie
