Surgery Scheduled - Need Good Thoughts!

My surgery is scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 23rd.  (Yes, my surgeon does surgery on Saturdays!)  Some of you may know I had my colon removed in June and was left with an ileostomy.  This surgery is to take down the ileostomy and reconnect things again.  There's pros and cons to it, but I have to try as I don't want to look back some day and wonder "What if?"  I'm hoping to be off work for three, maybe four weeks.  I'm not sick this time like I was in June, so am hoping the recovery goes fairly well.  In June, I was back to playing for theatre in 3-4 weeks, so am crossing my fingers that this time will be the same.

I'm not posting this on Facebook as I am friends with some people there that I don't care to share this with.  I'll be taking my laptop to the hospital - I have to be able to keep up with things!  I'll check in when I can.  (Am I addicted or what?)

Good luck with your upcoming surgery.  I hope it is uneventful & you have a speedy recovery.  I will keep you in my thoughts on the 23rd.    Keep us all posted on how you are doing during your recovery.

Well Nancy, I CERTAINLY will send up a prayer and hope that this is successful for you!

Forgive me if I haven't kept up, but did your job go permanent???

Thanks, Darla.  I hope it goes well, too, 'cause right now it pretty much sucks.

No, the job's still temp, but long-term.  A couple people have said there's at least 15 years' worth of work, so I'm hoping it still could go permanent.  For now, I'm good.  I like who I work with, too, and the hours are flexible.  I work 6-2:30...it's nice still having part of the day for appts. and to get other stuff done.
