9 days post op
Wow, what a ride this has been! First off Kevin is making me look like a big baby! I don't know how he had lap AND open and I still seem to have more pain! Men!
He took me to my one wk appt (thank God, I'd never have made it myself) I am still sooooo fatigued. My Hemoglobin had dropped to 6 before the 2 blood transfussions and I left the hospital on day 5 at 8.5. Monday it was 10, so I guess it accounts for why I tire so easily. I get just weak and shakey! But it will get better, it better!
I'm doing ok on getting in protein/water. Look forward to the pureed food stage (never thought I'd say THAT!) Could use some more choices for sure! My Husband and boys continue to eat evil things night and day and that is sometimes hard. I am committed and have no desire to cheat, but sometimes I just have to leave the room!
OK, got everyone out the door, I am alone today! Woo Hoo! That never happens! So it's nap time and then maybe a movie!

Thanks for checking in with us! Glad to hear that you are doing well!
Things will continue to improve daily, the increase in hemoglobin will continue to normal and your energy will too. Listen to your body's need for naps, alternate with short periods of walking and things will get back to a more normal feeling. Enjoy the day of rest and peace. I had to disappear from the food from time to time early on after surgery. Now (4 months later) things are sooooo much better.
Take care. Hugs, Kathy

Glad to hear from you! I hear ya' when it comes to the hubby & kids...I literally had to leave the room while they were eating. My hubby was good & made all the meals for him & my girls since I didn't feel like making foods for them that I couldn't eat, & it was hard watching them eating 'bad' foods in the beginning while I was eating full liquids (it's not like I was hungry or anything, it was jus****ching them eat these foods that I used to be able to eat & that I choose to have). But, since my surgery my family has been making much healthier eating choices thanks to me. Even my hubby says that cuz' of me he's eating less since he sees how little I'm eating it makes him realize how much he overeats. Just something he's realized on his own accord.
Rest up; each day will continue to get better than the day before. I was like you, had pain for quite awhile & was really tuckered out for awhile. But, by around a few weeks out I felt much better & by 6 weeks out I felt like I didn't even have surgery anymore (except for the fact that I couldn't eat much)...all the pain had gone away & I'm not that tired anymore. Things will get much better soon!!
Enjoy the quiet time!

I had to leave the room too when my Hubby and DD were eating. Not only that, I had to have my hubby clear off the table right after surgery, because I had such a hard time throwing the left over food away on my DD's plate when she was done eating (she's 3 so there's ALWAYS left over food!).
Glad to hear you are doing so well and you will start to get your energy and your strength back soon enough...don't worry too much about it yet, you did just have surgery and you should be resting. However, on the flip side, you do need to get up and move too. (how contradictory was that paragraph!)
