What's in your weight loss 'tool box' for 2010?

I am stealing this from a fellow bandster that posted this on the band board....

What's in your 'tool box' for 2010 when it comes to WLS? What are you using to keep on track and get yourself to goal? We obviously have our surgeries as a tool, but what else do you add in to make this work?

Here is what is in my tool box:

--Fills: get them when I need them!
--Doctor visits: get my bloodwork done and check in from time to time
--Scale: weigh myself daily!
--Weigh****chers: I go every week and it keeps me accountable and motivated!
--Sports: my way of exercising!
--Support group: Go to PNC support group and LapBand support group and coffees as well!
--Friends and family: they keep me in line when they see me getting off track
--Old photos: they remind me where I came from
--Realistic goals: I post them visibly so I remember what I am striving for

2019: 11 years out and maintaining a loss of 150lbs.

Flips up the lid of the tool box, rustles in the box, looking for all the tools needed in 2010...

Finds a Calender- notes doctor appts, blood draws,physicals- all waiting in 2010.

Looks up the support groups- attends two different ones monthly- One where I get the best post-op support, the other where I go to give pre ~op support to those starting their journeys.

2 Gym membership cards- use them more in the winter when the outside elements are against odds.

Race application forms- 5K and 10K.

Digital scale- for daily weight in.

Photo album- reminding me how far I have came.

Menu book- keeps me on track of balanced meals/snacks.

2010 Goal poster- hangs on door to keep me focused on my newest goals.

Happy New year to Everyone!

My tool box has PILES of new shinies!  I will be having my surgery likely in late summer.  I have many requirements for insurance and Im just getting started.

#1.  Sippy Cups.  I know this sounds stupid but I will have to SIP the water I need to drink and Im VERY bad at that.  Sippy cups it is!  I found some that look like solid colored travel coffee cups at Toys R Us!

#2.  Baby spoons.  Yes.  Baby Spoons.  I am learning how to take small bites and chew my food.

#3.  Snack cups.  I bought a 6-pack of 8oz snack cups with lids.  They are the exact size for a meal after WLS and I can take them with me when I go out to eat.  They will help me eat in proportion to my pouch once i have my surgery.  I need to work on this before I have the surgery or it could be too much to change all at once for me.

#4.  A new water bottle.  It fits on the door of my fridge and hold 64ozs of water.  I can buy water in 5 gallons bottles and chill only what I need for the next day in the small bottle!  This will help me eventually eliminate the Mt Dew from my daily routine!

Buying only healthy food and keeping useless carbs out of the house.. don't even buy them!

my daily P90x workout.. kicks my ass and makes my muscles sore.. reminds me how I can push my body to physical limits I couldn't before...

Keeping old photos (and some pants) around to remind me where I came from and where I am at in reality...

Having water bottles handy everywhere I go to keep my daily water goals.

Being human and realizing when I slip up and eat something I shouldn't, that everyone does and I'm not alone. And in turn using my next meal opportunity to eat healthy instead.
